Our Approach
You already have everything you need to heal. We just supply the knowledge and resources to bring that power to life.
Our Mission
Help St. Louis Heal.
The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged home from the emergency department after being shot. Now we provide support and care for anyone who has been directly or indirectly impacted by a bullet, including being threatened, witnessing a shooting, or losing a loved one. This includes people who have or have not been admitted to a hospital for care, and people who may not have a physical injury at all. It includes people who many have a lifetime of pain from bullets. It includes anyone who has a bullet left inside their body. BRI comes in many forms. Through our community engagement efforts, we recognized a pattern of unmet need in which patients suffered greatly in the aftermath of their injury as they did not have established connections to healthcare. We are here to change that with responsive, trauma-informed, accessible, and culturally competent care. We are an organization of health professionals and volunteers working together to provide support to those who are recovering from trauma.
